What SongBuzz keeps about you, why, who else sees it, for how long, and how to change your mind. We keep as little as the game needs and never sell it.
Who looks after your data
FireCMS, S.L., NIF B13789565, Calle Prim 12, Madrid. Write to hello@firecms.co about anything on this page.
What we keep and why
- Playing without an account. The first time you play, your device gets a random id, kept on it, and you type a name. With them we run the game: who's in, the scores, your results and your progress in Solo and the Daily Gig. Why we may: it's the service you asked for.
- Your account. If you sign in with Google, Apple or email: your email address, the name and photo of that account, your look, your progress and your friends. Why: the service you asked for.
- Friends. Your friends, the requests, who you block and the reports you send or that are sent about you. Your friends see when you have SongBuzz open and what you're playing, unless you turn that off (Hide it, on Friends). Why: the service you asked for; for reports and blocks, also keeping players safe (legitimate interest).
- Notifications. Only if you turn them on: your browser's push address, your language and the hour of your Daily reminder. Why: your consent. Turn them off on Friends or in your browser at any time.
- How the game is used. Our own statistics: the page, what you played, the kind of device, the language, the time zone, the site that sent you and errors on screen, with a random id for the visit. No IP address is kept. Why: keeping the game working and making it better (legitimate interest). You can object by writing to us.
- Google Analytics. Only if you say yes (see cookies below). Why: your consent.
- Rafa, the presenter. Rafa's voice is made with AI (Google Gemini). To say a player's name, that name is sent to Google, and the recording is kept for up to 180 days so it isn't made again. Why: the service you asked for.
- Keeping SongBuzz safe. Your IP address is used for a moment to stop too many requests and to tell whether phones are in the same house. It isn't stored. Why: legitimate interest.
Who else sees it
We don't sell or rent your data. These providers help run SongBuzz, under contract and only for that:
- Rebase Cloud: hosting and the database, on Google Cloud servers in Belgium, in the EU.
- Google: sign-in, Rafa's voice (Gemini), Google Analytics if you say yes, and notifications in Chrome and on Android.
- Apple: sign-in with Apple and notifications on Apple devices. Mozilla: notifications in Firefox.
- Deezer: the song previews and covers. Your device loads covers from Deezer, which sees its IP address.
Other players see the name you play with, your character and your scores. Some of these companies are in the United States: transfers there are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account, your progress and your friends: until you ask us to delete them.
- Playing without an account: the id stays on your device until you clear this site's data; the results linked to it until you ask us to delete them.
- Usage statistics: one year.
- Rafa's recordings of names: up to 180 days.
- Notifications: until you turn them off. The Daily reminder turns itself off after three missed in a row.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, take a copy, limit how we use it or object to it, and take back any consent you gave. Write to hello@firecms.co from the address you play with, or with the name and device you play on. We answer within a month.
If you think we got it wrong, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Children
Under 14, a parent or guardian has to agree before you make an account. Playing without one only needs a name: use a nickname. If a child under 14 made an account without that, write to us and we'll delete it.
Cookies and what stays on your device
SongBuzz keeps a few things in your browser so the game works: the random id, your language and settings, your sign-in, and your last screen, so it draws at once. They're part of the service you asked for, so they don't need asking.
Google Analytics' cookies (_ga and _ga_…) are only set if you say yes. They last up to two years and count visits. Without your yes, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on SongBuzz before it applies. See also the terms and the legal notice.
